Cheesy Spiders
Another favorite Halloween recipe that goes great with chili or just by themselves. Cheesy Spiders are super easy to make. No cooking required.
Ingredients:
1 block of cream cheese (cut into squares) for the body
1 bag of shredded cheese ( I recommend the Mexican 4 Cheese) for the hair
chow mein noodles for the legs
diced black olives for the eyes
Roll cream cheese into bite sized balls. Then roll through shredded cheese to add hair. Stick 4 chow mein noodles into each side for legs. Add small olives pieces to make eyes.
Some people don’t care for black olives, so they can be substituted for poppy seeds, cracked pepper or just leave them off completely.
The Brain

One of our family Halloween traditions has become ” The Brain”. We can’t have a Halloween party or gathering with out it.
I bought a brain mold years ago for one of my first Halloween parties. However, I hate jello. And what color jello would you use to make a brain. Hmmm, none that I could think of. The answer to my dilemma: a family favorite at Holidays. Shrimp Mold! Even though I don’t eat shrimp either, and hate the smell. But that’s a different story. lol
So remember when you’re searching for spooky food, that people will actually eat: Don’t Forget The Brain!!!!

Music to Haunt By
Setting spooky scenes here and there throughout my house and yard is always fun. Once I start, it’s hard to stop. I always need a little more, or “something else, I just haven’t found it yet.” Creating a haunting ambiance is important for any Halloween party or gathering. Finding the right music to keep the mood spooky was always the hardest part. Sound effect CD’s of creaking doors and screams just didn’t cut it.
A few years ago, on one of my many Halloween shopping hunts for new and interesting creepy things, I came across a CD by Midnight Syndicate. I took a chance and bought it. I was not disappointed. It was the perfect back ground music for my haunted settings, and added a whole new level of ambiance. Next time you’re throwing a haunted dinner party or somber soiree, keep them in mind.

Getting Ready for Halloween
It’s no secret that this is my favorite time of year. The weather turns cooler, leaves start to fall, and Halloween is coming!
I started small decorating here and there since September. My niece had a Witchy Mystery Party for her birthday, and that got the whole family in the Halloween Spirit!
Yesterday, I put up my graveyard. Each year I try to add a little more. I found these great tips for making your own tombstones. I definitely want to try this out!
